Information Sessions

8 language specific sessions will take place for parents in Halton. Information sessions will introduce the background and deliverables of the project. These sessions are currently planned to be held in the community to allow easy access for newcomers.

Focus Groups

    5 language specific information gathering sessions exploring the needs and challenges for newcomer families of children with special needs.  Focus groups will be offered in English and French as well as Halton’s top 4 languages- Arabic, Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish.

    Networking Group

      Led by Halton parents for Halton parents.

      Held bi-monthly,  a comfortable and safe space for families to engage in opportunities for resource sharing, workshops, skill building and networking with other families. Expert led workshops will include topics such as; advocacy, resources in the community, getting past the stigma, stress in the home, balancing your new life.
