The Halton Multicultural Council was founded in 1979 by volunteers of a number of cultural groups to provide social programs to the community.
The Halton Multicultural Council is a community agency dedicated to enabling every individual, regardless of race or ethnic origin, to participate as full and active members of the community through fostering mutual respect and understanding of one another.
We believe that for Canada to thrive, everyone must learn to accept and respect the traditions and customs of the many cultural groups present in all aspects of Canadian society today.
Halton Multicultural Council's School Host Program is a free, innovative service offered to schools across the Halton region. This Program aims to help children who are new to Canada to integrate through friendships and develop their cultural identity through open and safe interaction
